Why Jess's Garden

As I think about it now, I chose the name because I garden to create a space that I want to share with my family.
This blog has now evovled to be a discussion about how I'm attempting to create a personal and physical home for my family.
Creating a garden is a key part of that process, but it is not the only part, so I feel the different parts of this blog are all congruent to the same goal.

After confusing marigolds and geraniums over the years, I've just discovered that I like geraniums. Though my mum tells me they are not called geraniums any more. I brought three different coloured geraniums for the window box outside my kitchen window. This is one of them.

to me a geranium will always remain a geranium (no pelargoniums here ).
I used TO hate them but I have come to an appreciation of the moand there toughness .I have also discovered some nice varieties ..which helps a lot

You know, I was given some geraniums (which is what I will continue to call them!) by my in laws. At first I was a bit so-so about them, thinking of them as some old fashioned and not greatly attractive waste of space. But now that I have a few small plants in bloom, I'm happy to report I love them too!

I think the problem is that I've only ever seen samples where they are left to grow big and wild and that's not nice. I keep them trimmed and pretty and quite adore them now!

Yours are a lovely pink!

I remember having an ample variant of them for several years on my balcony. It was amazing, they covered the whole balcony! So easily grown, just added some nourishment and they did the rest.

Gorgeous colour. I must get myself some more of these. Believe it or not I have managed to kill them.

There are some lovely geraniums; the regals have beautiful flowers and the ones with scented leaves are nice too.

I always get geraniums and pelargoniums mixed up (heck, I can't even spell it). But they are beautiful, I think so anyway. Perfect flower to make you feel happy.

Very pretty! Still too early to see them out here...but I'm sure just as soon as we get a warm flush, the stores will have them...they are so cheerful, aren't they?

Visiting for Green Thumb Sunday. You haven't posted for almost two months. Will you please write back to me and let me know if you will be reactivating this site soon? If not, I'll have to remove your site from the Green Thumb blogroll. Let me know?

So what are they called? I keep seeing them called geraniums. I think they are lovely to look at but the smell makes me ill. :-)

Geraniums are a lovely plant. I've got some over wintering in my basement and I hope they survive to bloom again.
